Wood Plug Trim Saw
Trimming wood plugs flush to a surface is a snap with the simple trim saw you see in the photo at right. It's just a curved wood block that holds a cut-off hacksaw blade, as illustrated in the drawing.To avoid marring the workpiece, the blade is recessed in a groove, as shown in the detail. (This leaves a small nub of the plugs sticking up but it's easily sanded flush.) A 3/8" notch cut in the block provides clearance as you saw.
