Heavy-Duty Push Block
For extra blade clearance, the thick body of the push block is glued up from two pieces of scrap. At the back, I screwed a ¼″ hardboard heel to catch the end of a board and push it through the blade, like you see in the photo. An ordinary steel utility handle gives me a firm grip on the block. Once the bottom and the heel of the push block get chewed up, you can easily remove the handle and make a new block. Good Woodworking,
